The investment plan launched in 2022 by Titan and then launched in 2023 is proceeding at a rapid pace to increase the production capacity of all European sites and reduce the environmental impact of the processes.
After having developed a second profiling line in the Italian plant in Finale Emilia to produce medium range rims, those with diameters up to 42 inches and widths up to 23 inches, states engineer Paolo Bertoglio, general manager Operation of Titan Italia, the group has just approved another important investment which will lead to the creation of a new powder finishing painting line which will be operational starting from the second half of next year.
The plant will make it possible to significantly improve the quality of environmental products but also to reduce direct and indirect emissions thanks to latest generation wheel washing and treatment processes and also to lower energy absorption.
With these investments the Titan group will strengthen its market position at the leading level by offering products that in terms of quality, long-term reliability and process sustainability will have few rivals. In parallel with these commitments, Titan Italia is launching a new specific product line for the after-sales market to meet the needs of those end users who need to replace or add wheels to their vehicles, a need induced by the onset of particular processes that require equipment that is different from that supplied as original equipment by the manufacturer of the agricultural vehicle.
The wheels offered in the after market will obviously be certified in terms of load capacity and quality as well as characterized by a specific color and the Titan brand as added value.
They will also be made available mainly in the “Wa e” variable track configuration so as to be able to deal with the greatest possible number of requests and can be easily viewed through a new company website recently published, the same one which also allows you to contact the company directly and consolidate any orders through the relevant authorized resellers”.
And abroad? “A few months ago,” continues engineer Bertoglio, “a second profiling line for medium/large range rims was completed and made operational in the French factory in Fleer, Normandy. Also in this case, production capacity has been significantly increased, with the aim of reducing the impact of Intercompany supplies and improving production flexibility.
In parallel, a new factory was built in Aydin, Turkey, adjacent to our historic factory and structured in such a way as to create a covered surface area of over seven thousand square meters in addition to the pre-existing covered ones. This is a strategic expansion as it has launched an important plan to increase the Group’s production capacity divided into several phases, the first of which will see the strengthening of the molding department with the purchase of a new two thousand and five hundred ton press which it will also allow large discs characterized by a high drawing depth to be printed on site.
The new molding line will be installed immediately after the summer break and in addition to allowing us to meet the demands of the growing local market, it will also support the production of the factories located in Italy, France and England. In the meantime, the technical specifications have been defined for the new medium-range wheel profiling line which will soon be ordered to be installed in the Aydin plant by the end of 2025. The objective is to double the capacity of the site Turkish in anticipation of an increasingly massive demand for agricultural machinery that is expected on a global level.
At the end of the investment plan, the Titan group will in fact be able to boast an overall capacity of approximately one million rims per year for agricultural applications, with an overall increase compared to current production that will exceed 30 percent. It should be noted that the possibility of updating the painting system by replacing the current liquid system with a powder system is being evaluated in the Aydin plant in Turkey.
The structure will be completely similar to the one under development in Italy and when it is built it will allow the quality of the finished products to be significantly improved, aligning them with European standards and also reducing the environmental impact although local regulations do not expressly require it”.
