Fendt “e100 Vario”, the new compact electric tractor for companies

Fendt “e100 Vario”

After launching its first electric tractor, the “e100 V Vario” in 2023, Fendt is back at Eima with the “e100 Vario,” a compact machine derived from the specialized model. With a width of 216 centimeters, it’s suitable for a wide range of tasks—agricultural, specialized, and industrial.

Fendt introduced its first electric tractor in 2017, but waited six years, until 2023, to officially release it under the name “e100 V Vario.” Just 107 centimeters wide, this machine is designed primarily for use in narrow, high-value vineyards. A year later, Fendt follows up with the “e100 Vario,” another compact model, but with a width of 216 centimeters. This gives it a broader mission profile, making it suitable not only for specialized tasks but also for internal and external maintenance on farms and livestock operations. It can even be employed by municipalities for green maintenance or road upkeep, especially in noise-sensitive areas.

Two setups available

Fendt “e100 Vario”

Like all electric vehicles, the Fendt “e100 Vario” offers zero emissions and low noise levels, making it particularly valuable in livestock farming environments with large animals. Available in “Profi” and “Profi+” versions, the tractor is powered by an electric motor offering 55, 75, or 66 kilowatts, depending on the mode selected by the operator. The performance is transmitted to the wheels by the “Vario Ml 75” transmission, allowing speeds from as low as 20 meters per hour to a maximum of 40 kilometers per hour. The powertrain also includes a start-stop system, which completely eliminates energy consumption during stops, ensuring maximum autonomy from its 100-kilowatt-hour battery pack. This battery can be recharged in five hours using a “CCS2” socket or via a 22-kilowatt mobile charger powered by a 32-amp industrial socket. For fast charging, an 80-kilowatt DC charger can recharge the battery from 20% to 80% in just 45 minutes.

Up to seven hours of battery life

Once fully charged, the tractor’s operational autonomy ranges between four and seven hours, depending on the energy demands of the work being performed. A load-sensing hydraulic system delivers up to 113 liters per minute, powering a rear three-point hitch with a lifting capacity of almost 4,300 kilograms and up to four rear and one front hydraulic distributors. An optional front hitch, with a lifting capacity of about 2,600 kilograms and a PTO operating at 1,000 rpm, complements the standard rear PTO, which operates at 540, 740, and 1,000 rpm and can be synchronized with the transmission.

Even digital solutions

Other noteworthy features include the optional “Cargo 3X65” front loader, low-energy “TM1 Eco Power” tires from Trelleborg, and, on the “Profi+” versions, the “Fendt Smart Farming” base packages. These, combined with the “FendtOne” operating system, allow ISOBUS equipment control, satellite-assisted driving, worksite management, and even direct handling of administrative tasks from the tractor.

Fendt 600 varies from 164 to 224 horsepower

The new “600 Vario” series tractors from Fendt, introduced at Eima, are built for medium-sized Italian farms, offering the advanced technology and features that have made the German brand famous worldwide. At the heart of these tractors is the continuously variable “VarioDrive” transmission, paired with the new Agco Power “Core 50” four-cylinder, five-liter engines, specifically designed for agricultural use. These engines operate at low RPMs, between 800 and 1,900, thanks to a state-of-the-art fuel system delivering 2,500 bar of pressure, combined with an electronically controlled turbocharger. All models offer up to 15 additional horsepower beyond the nominal ratings to handle high onboard power demands, delivering peak performance between 164 and 224 horsepower.

All models feature the “VarioDrive” transmission, which powers both axles using dedicated hydraulic motors, controlled by a central unit that optimizes tire grip. This intelligent all-wheel-drive system reduces fuel consumption, extends tire life, and protects the soil. The transmission allows speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour at just 1,300 engine RPMs and automatically decouples the front hydraulic motor when exceeding 25 kilometers per hour to improve towing capacity. The braking system is dual-circuit, the front axle is electronically controlled and suspended, and the “Fendt Reaction” steering system adjusts responsiveness based on travel speed. The “VarioGrip” tire inflation system lets operators adjust tire pressure to match the task and ground conditions, yielding up to an 8% fuel savings in certain situations. The hydraulic system, based on a load-sensing circuit, can deliver up to 205 liters per minute, enabling the use of original Fendt “CargoProfi” front loaders. Additionally, the “VisoPlus” cab is available with pneumatic rear suspension and conical bearings up front, or with fully pneumatic suspension.
