Wooded areas are one of the most difficult natural environments to approach in terms of economic management. In fact, they present themselves with connotations that significantly hinder the possibilities of mechanization of activities, starting from the dense and disorderly vegetation which severely limits the movements of men and machines up to the irregular and uneven surfaces which are often characterized by accentuated inclinations. As if that were enough, these limitations are then combined with the continuous presence of obstacles that put the robustness of the propulsion and traction systems of the machines, primarily tires, to the test.
It is therefore no coincidence that in order to offer those who have to work in forestry contexts, Bkt has developed special tyres, a product line which until yesterday was defined by a single family of tyres, the “ForesTech”, but which in recent times was enriched by the debut of two other tire series called “ForestMax” and “ForestLand”. The first are lowered radials in 65 bar made on the basis of a structure defined by steel belts combined with reinforced sides and a compound capable of offering superior resistance to cuts and perforations. The geometry of the tread and the design of the shoulder also ensure excellent self-cleaning properties, allowing the rubber to work successfully even in open fields to support heavy operations such as, for example, tilling the land and crushing stones.
“ForestLand” is instead a tire with a conventional structure made on the basis of a polyester carcass. Also in this case the sides are particularly robust, designed with a view to ensuring maximum product life. The open shoulder design also promotes traction on soft terrain, while the rigid and reinforced tread lugs guarantee good grip on any surface together with high self-cleaning capabilities.
On the road at 40 mph
A common feature of both tires is stability, a fundamental quality for dealing with the severe operating conditions of forestry in absolute safety, but also for traveling on the road at the maximum speeds allowed so as to minimize transfer times.
