After the celebrations marking its first 70 years of activity, the Adr Group showcased its latest product lines at EIMA, focusing the attention of manufacturers and visitors on the “Alpha” suspensions, the new “Hp” series brakes, and the agricultural “410E” brake.
The Adr Group’s stand at EIMA was impressive, serving to celebrate the first 70 years of the Italian multinational’s operations and demonstrate its ongoing efforts to meet the future needs of agricultural mechanization. Three notable innovations were presented, two related to the braking sector and one focused on suspension systems, expanding the company’s offerings for trailers that frequently operate on rough terrain.
The new “Alpha” series suspensions aim to address this need, with two models for loads of 1500 or 1800 kg. The first model features joints made from synthetic ball joints that require no lubrication, minimizing maintenance needs. Both models share a construction based on steel triangulation and cross stabilizer bars that connect the “TeknoAx 2.0” axles to the trailer frame. Hydraulic cylinders, which can be electronically controlled, manage axle excursions and any changes in alignment. This innovative design allows for axle travel of up to 25 cm, optimizes wheel alignments by adjusting the stabilizer bar’s central body, positions lateral cylinders to avoid tire interference, and enables the installation of steerable axles controlled by Adr’s “EasyDrive” or “SmartDrive” systems. The system also supports the installation of the “Adr-Ptg” tire inflation system and the new “Hp” series brakes, along with the “410E” brake, all of which are new Adr offerings for 2024.
The “Hp” series brakes represent the first return to the agricultural sector based on the best construction solutions developed by Adr in the industrial brake sector. This allows the brakes to deliver high performance, versatility, and low maintenance requirements. Unlike traditional agricultural drum brakes, whose shoes are mounted on a welded plate on the axle, the new brakes feature double-webbed shoes derived from industrial brakes but maintain the adjustability of the brake shoe positions relative to the drum, as found in agricultural brakes. This makes it easier to optimize braking action without the need for complex disassemblies or, worse, grinding operations. Two models are currently available: the “340×120” and the “406×120,” both approved for speeds up to 60 km/h and compatible with all current driving assistance systems, including ABS sensors that are easy to install, as well as direction and speed sensors required for integrating the latest stability control systems on trailers.
Similar features are offered by the new “410E” brake, which expands the agricultural brake range by providing a braking capacity of 102 quintals per axle, allowing the installation of wheels with diameters up to 1.6 meters. This is made possible by an exclusive shoe anchoring system and a larger cam. The brake is EU-approved and can be used on trailers approved for road speeds up to 60 km/h.
